International IT company the SWORD Group has acquired an Aberdeen-based development and services consultancy, Technology Managers, which predominately works in the public sector across the UK and Ireland delivering its market-leading TeleScheduler™ Care and eziTracker™ products.
The company will be integrated with SWORD’s Aberdeen operation, enabling it to benefit from SWORD’s geographical reach and track record with customers in the public sector and healthcare markets across the UK.
This is SWORD’s second Scottish acquisition within two months and brings its number of employees in Scotland to more than 500. The Group, which specialises in IT products and services, bought Glasgow-based Graham Technology last month. Other companies it has acquired include Aberdeen-based Pragma Systems and Real Time Engineering which also has an office in Aberdeen.

I am excited about Technology Manager’s products and services and firmly believe this acquisition enhances our public sector and healthcare offerings.
“SWORD is continuing to demonstrate consistent stability and continued growth through its acquisition strategy designed to augment our existing market sectors.”
Established in 1997, Technology Managers’ products focus on the domiciliary healthcare market to help reduce the administration burden by facilitating best practice and providing instant access to pertinent management information. The solutions comply with the findings of the Gershon report of 2004 to drive efficiencies in the public sector through increasing productivity and reducing costs.
Martin Slowey, managing director of Technology Managers, said: “The acquisition by SWORD demonstrates strong confidence in the products and the market. By becoming part of the Group, we will leverage the benefits of being part of a much larger operation. We believe that this move will enhance our technical capabilities, scale and reach, allowing us to grow further into new regions and enhance our existing offering.”
